
The International Workers’ Day and Maharashtra Day was recently celebrated on 1 May 2025 at Kurla Kamgar Nagar by the organization Mere Adhikar Meri Jimmedaru (Marji). The program began with a collective reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution and a collective tribute paid to the citizens who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Senior journalist and writer Prasad Mokashi guided the attendees on the topic of the United Maharashtra Movement and We. Former Judge Dr. D. K. Sonawane interacted with the attendees on the topic of the Indian Constitution and labor. Civil engineer Thomas Rodrigues also guided the attendees on the importance of education. MARJI Sanghatana head Mangesh Sonawane informed the attendees about the participation of women like men in the United Maharashtra movement. The program was coordinated by the coordinator of the organization, Prati Koli. Meanwhile, Vivek Salvi informed the attendees about the organization’s activities. In this program, the trainees who participated in the Barefoot Lawyer Training Programme organized by the organization were honored with certificates. After that, the victims who fought and got justice were honored with certificates as Sangharshshil Vyaktimatva (Resilient Personalities). Like every year, this year too, Mumbai Municipal Corporation employee Jitu Ramji Rose, who actively contributed to the society along with his work, was honored by the dignitaries with a certificate, shawl and turban as a Gunwant Kamgar Puraskar. New members of the organization Vicky Parkhe, Kuldeep Saroj and Asha Kadam were honored by the dignitaries. The organization’s office secretary Rakesh Tulaskar, senior comrades Sachin Sonawane, Deepak Shinde, Tushar Dhivere, Hasin Khan, Gauri Kadam, Sunil Vishwakarma, Deepak Ghevde, Kiran Shelar, Roshni Bagde, etc. were present in the program. To make the program a success, the organization’s coordinator Vaishnavi Mapgaonkar, Gauri Kadam, Lakshmi Shelar, Sushil Kharat and M.A. students like Shiba Parveen, Saurabh Maurya, Sachin Raj, Rituraj Kushwaha, Aniruddha Kamble, Arpita Bandivdekar, Nachiket Mohta etc. actively contributed.
